Thanksgiving will be observed tomorrow and that will lead to some schedule changes.
In Kewanee, City Hall and the Transfer Station will both be closed on Thursday and Friday.
It’s also a federal holiday and the United States Post Office will be closed on Thursday but will re-open on Friday.
The Henry County Court system will be closed on both Thursday and Friday for the holiday.
Thursday is also a Federal Reserve Banking Holiday with banks closed for the day with most if not all banks open again on Friday.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announcing that all offices and facilities will be closed both Thursday and Friday. DMV’s that are normally open Tuesday through Saturday, including the Kewanee facility will be open once again on Saturday morning.
All area schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the holiday. In Kewanee District #229, a one hour early dismissal will be observed this afternoon and at Wethersfield District #230, classes will dismiss this afternoon at 1:45.
Black Hawk College will be closed Thursday through Saturday with no Saturday classes held this weekend. Registration for the next round of classes can still be made at www.bhe.edu
Henry and Stark County Health Department offices will be closed on both Thursday and Friday with limited home health and homemaker staff working to provide necessary in home care.
University of Illinois Extension, Henry, Stark, Mercer and Rock Island Counties will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
And the Henry County Senior Citizen Center will also be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
