Rutherford Attorney Says Treasurer Not Hiding Incriminating Report

An attorney for state treasurer Dan Rutherford says no conclusions should be drawn from Rutherford's decision not to release the findings of a taxpayer-funded investigation he launched into allegations that he sexually harassed a top deputy.  Attorney Peter Andjelkovich says Rutherford is following court rules since the matter is now the center of a federal lawsuit, charging Rutherford with misconduct.  In the days prior to the filing of the lawsuit, Rutherford made multiple media appearances and displayed documents he says proves that there was nothing improper in his actions toward the employee.  The former employee who filed the suit, Ed Michalowski's told the "Chicago Sun-Times," "If the report weren't damaging, why wouldn't he release it?"
