When front-runner Bruce Rauner looks over his shoulder heading into the final days of the GOP race for governor, he'll see state Sen. Kirk Dillard closing the gap. A new Tribune/WGN-TV poll finds that while Rauner has lost four-percentage points and stands at 36-percent support, Dillard has doubled his support in the past month and now is favored by 23-percent of the registered voters polled. Sen. Bill Brady and Treasurer Dan Rutherford have both lost support in recent weeks. Brady stands at 18-percent, down from 20, while Rutherford lost four-percentage points to sit at 9-percent. Thirteen-percent of voters say they're undecided.
