Democrats: State Tax Rollback Will Cost Schools Millions

Democrats in the Illinois Senate say that if the state income tax is rolled back it could devastate schools statewide. Senate President John Cullerton's office released figures on Wednesday showing that school districts would lose over 450-million dollars in funding next fiscal year. Governor Quinn supports a permanent extension of the temporary 67 percent tax increase. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans believe the Democrats are bluffing and trying to create a crisis in order to justify getting in the taxpayers' pockets.
