A plan to save money for those living in the Chicago area on their electric bill is in the works. The proposal by officials with the Rock Island Clean Line calls for the distribution of wind power from Iowa to Channahon gets the green light. The energy firm would take 35-hundred megawatts of power from wind turbines in O'Brien County in Iowa. The power would then be delivered to Channahon in Grundy County. At least one-point-four-million homes would have access to the power supply. Regulators in Illinois and Iowa still need to approve the two-billion-dollar project.
