Local organizations and leaders in the community teamed up to host a Fast Pitch Entrepreneur Big Idea Competition Tuesday at the Black Hawk College Community Education Center in Kewanee. Residents and business owners in Henry and Stark Counties were invited to share their ideas for new retail, manufacturing, technology, agriculture and other businesses, or ideas for improving an existing business. Winners were chosen in the three categories.
Stephanie Taylor of Cambridge placed runner-up in the non-retail category, with the top prize going to Rick Feltner of Kewanee …..
In the existing business category, second place went to Geneseo’s Jan Dahl, while first-place went to Mike King of Kewanee….
Kewanee’s Nikki Klein placed second in the Retail Category, as she finished narrowly behind winner Joe Hulsey of Toulon….
The winners will receive radio advertising from Regional Media, in addition to cash and professional business consultation services.
