A plan to legalize marijuana for medical reasons isn't getting the warmest of welcomes in the senate. Some are concerned the proposal could open the door for increased crime and use of pot for recreational purposes, but supporters say they've put restrictions in place to protect against that. In fact, they call the bill the most restrictive in the nation because patients would have to prove they have one of about 30 illnesses in order to get a prescription for the drug. The bill passed committee yesterday, and should get a vote on the floor in the next few weeks.
