Disaster SNAP Results

The acceptance of Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program applications ended Monday and the Illinois Department of Human Services announced that during the first four days of accepting applications the department provided more than 7-point-6 million dollars in Disaster SNAP benefits to nearly 61-thousand people statewide.  According to IDHS Secretary Michelle Saddler, with this special program, they were able to provide those affected by the flooding with extra benefits to buy groceries and take care of their families.
