State Incentives Could Bring Fertilizer Plant To Central Illinois

Governor Quinn is expected to approve a major economic development package this week that could help to attract a large fertilizer plant to the central Illinois community of Tuscola.  Illinois is offering about 14-million-dollars in incentives to Delaware-based Cronus Chemical, which is considering sites in Illinois and Iowa for its urea production facility.  The plant would bring about 200 full-time jobs to the Douglas County area.  The same package of bills also includes language to start construction of an airport in Peotone, in Will County, and to help Rosemont upgrade its convention facility near O'Hare Airport.
