The six year old boy from Sterling who was trapped under 11 feet of sand is making a speedy recovery. Nathan Woessner had been missing for more than three-and-a-half hours at a dune called MountBaldy at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Friday. Several rescue crews were called, and after hours of work, pulled the boy from the sand. He was then sent to a local hospital and was later sent to the University of Chicago Medicine and Comer Children’s Hospital. Officials say Nathan was discharged from the Chicago hospital on Tuesday. He had been walking on his own on Sunday, and now will continue to take rehabilitative therapy, and is expected to make a full recovery.
