The Windmont Park Holiday Decoration Crew is back at it once again this year building the annual Christmas display that will come to life on Sunday, December 8th.
Bob Neirynck of Kewanee is one of the main coordinators for the project and he says they got underway with their efforts on November 1st…
Anyone that can volunteer to help out is invited to just show up at Windmont each day and they’ll find something for you to do.
As for the total number of lights on the display, Neirynck says it’s anybody’s guess over one million…
Cookies, brownies and other such treats are also needed on a daily basis for the workers and donations of cookies are needed for December 7th and also for the lighting ceremony on December 8th.
Once the lights are turned on, there will be ample opportunity for the public to view the display…
That’s Bob Neirynck with the Windmont Lighting Crew.
