Robert “Bobby” I. DeVenney, 61, of Kewanee, passed away at 8:21 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
He was born November 22, 1951 in Kewanee, the son of Robert H. DeVenney and Ilene (Mallery) Popejoy. Survivors include his son, Robert “Robbie” I. DeVenney Jr., a brother, Randy “Joe” (Diana) DeVenney of Kewanee, a sister, Snookey (Fred) Barlow of LaFayette, six grandchildren, Lexi, Levi, Dalton, Parker, Cameron and Carter, many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, grandparents and a nephew.
Bobby graduated from Kewanee High School in 1972. He had worked as a welder at Hyster’s and Pines Trailer and as a bartender at Pat’s Stop Off in Sheffield. He was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast who enjoyed life in general. He loved cooking and just food in general and also enjoyed fishing, get together’s with family and friends, watching wrestling on TV and especially his grandchildren.
