WILLIAMSFIELD - Doris E. Renwick, 82, of Williamsfield, died at 12:40 PM, Monday, January 13, 2014 at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 17 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Rev. Jennifer Seder will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Williamsfield EMS or to the Knox County Nursing Home. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is in charge of arrangements.
She was born June 14, 1931 in Gilson, IL, the daughter of George C. and Mary E. (Harmison) Arnold. She married Richard L. “Dick” Renwick on September 18, 1954 in Galesburg and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2007. Survivors include two sons, Terry Renwick and Ricky (Gabriele “Gabi”) Renwick, both of Galesburg, twin daughters, Collette (Tim) Stewart of Williamsfield and Colleen (Chris) Comeaux of Rock Island, three sisters, Helen Barber of San Diego, CA, Virginia Brooks of Danville, VI and Thelma Bloome of Knoxville, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary, and a brother, Dale.
Doris graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1949. She worked as a supervisor and food service manager at Knox County Nursing Home until her retirement in 1989. She also had worked at Brown Specialty and had done private home care. She was a family person, who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was the go-to babysitter. She also enjoyed flower gardening, feeding and watching the birds and especially her pets, Prince, Sparky and Tabitha.
