Marguerite F. DeBlieck, 91, of Geneseo, passed away Wednesday February 26, 2014 at Geneseo Good Samaritan Village. A funeral mass celebrating Marguerite’s life will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Geneseo. Father Michael Pakula will celebrate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. Visitation for Marguerite will from 9:30-10:30 AM (1 hour prior to mass) at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church. Memorials may be directed to the Marguerite DeBlieck Memorial Fund. Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements.
Marguerite was born on January 3, 1923 in Prophetstown, IL, the daughter of Gilbert and Ella Nora (Egert) Park. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Ralph E. DeBlieck on May 23, 1942 in Geneseo, IL. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2011.
Marguerite was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society and Circle 14 of the Church. She was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Women of the Moose.
Survivors include 3 sons: Kenneth (Vicki) DeBlieck of Sun Lakes, AZ, Randy (Carol) DeBlieck of Aurora, CO, Dennis (Lori Lewis) DeBlieck of Littleton, CO; daughter-in-law: Kathy DeBlieck of Plant City, FL; grandchildren: Terri DeBlieck Welsh, Brant DeBlieck, Breann DeBlieck Bockstahler, Amber DeBlieck, Connor DeBlieck; great grandchildren: Lauren Welsh, Logan Welsh, Marissa DeBlieck, Kayla DeBlieck, Allison Bockstahler; sister: Phyllis Gibler of Geneseo, IL; sisters-in-law: Shirley Park of Geneseo, IL and Bonnie Park of Atkinson, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph; a son: Thomas DeBlieck in 2013; a grandson: Timothy R. DeBlieck, brothers: Jack and Bob Park; and sisters; Gen Lackey and Mildred Kelley.
