Wyoming – Cleo M. McCauley, 82, of Wyoming, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Cleo was born in Wyoming on October 15, 1931, the daughter of Oscar and Laura Alice (Hanchett) Leadley. She married Donald G. “Mac” McCauley on June 24, 1950, in Toulon. He died July 1, 2009, in Peoria.
Surviving are six children: Donald L. (Diane) McCauley of Wyoming, Cathy (Mike) Breese of Wyoming, Debbie (Dennis) Van De Sampel of Kewanee, Lori McCauley of Colorado Springs, CO, James (Mary) McCauley of Wyoming, and Mark (Gloria) McCauley of Bradford; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Trey) Tillman, Grant (Tiffany) McCauley, Gregory (Jo) McCauley, Ryan (Erin) Breese, Marque (David) Johnston, Cole (Kari) Breese, Eric (Amber) Van De Sampel, Samuel McCauley, Isaac McCauley, and Jordan McCauley; 15 great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Fuzz. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Duane Leadley.
Cleo loved cooking, and she served as head cook at Wyoming Grade School for over 35 years. She also operated the “Taste of Country Tea Room” in the 1980’s. The greatest joy in her life was her family.
Cremation has been accorded, and private burial of ashes will be in Wyoming Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a celebration of Cleo’s life on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Wyoming United Methodist Church of which she was a lifelong member.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Food Pantry in Wyoming, Stark County Food Pantry, or Wyoming United Methodist Church.
