Violet Elaine Causemaker, 78, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at her home.A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Moline, IL.Father Donald Levitt will celebrate.Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in East Moline.A visitation for Violet will be from 4-7 pm on Monday, June 2 at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Ltd. in Geneseo, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30pm.There will also be a visitation from 9-10 am on Tuesday at Christ the King Church prior to the funeral mass.Memorials may be made to Christ the King Church or American Cancer Society.
Violet was born on July 21, 1935 in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Clark and Edna (Peterson) Klavon.She graduated from J.D. Darnall High School in 1953.She was united in marriage to Marv Causemaker on July 18, 1953 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Atkinson, IL.Violet was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Moline, IL.She was a former Moose Lodge member, where she went through all the chairs.She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Marv; daughters: Pam Goff, Milan, IL, Kay (Herman) Ackley, Moline, IL, Teresa (Michael) Youngblood, Cherry Valley, IL; grandchildren: Jodi Minor, Julie (Mark) Stout, Jamie Millsap, Amy (Dion) Ayers, Kelly Webber, Dane Youngblood, Addison Youngblood; great grandchildren: Austin, Chelsey, Kirsten, Kyler, Keegan, Marley, Zoey, James; sisters: Ruth Erdman, Geneseo, IL, Lois (Wayne) Misfeldt, Geneseo, IL, Judy Cross, Washington, IL; brother: William (Kay) Klavon, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brian Causemaker, three brothers, and four sisters.
