Paul Kevin Blankenfeld, 60, of Georgetown, TX, formerly of Geneseo, IL, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Temple, TX following a very short illness. A funeral service celebrating his life and memory will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 20th at Vandemore Funeral Home in Geneseo. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 19th, at Vandemore Funeral Home. Memorials may be left to the Geneseo Airport.
Paul was born on October 10, 1953, the son of Charles and Goldie Blankenfeld. He graduated from J.D. Darnall High School in 1971 and studied business at various colleges. At the University of Iowa, he met Shirley Peterson, his future wife, and they were united in marriage on May 31st, 1975, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, Iowa. They chose to live in Paul’s hometown, where he could be a part of the family business, A.B. Supply, in downtown Geneseo. He acted as A.B. Supply’s general manager and later worked for Exmark Manufacturing as a Regional Sales Manager.Paul and Shirley were blessed with two daughters, Katherine and Kristina. Paul was an avid private pilot and attained his pilot’s license on his 16th birthday. He also enjoyed sailing, cooking, water sports of any type and exploring self-taught skills in computers and programming.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Blankenfeld (Georgetown,TX), and his daughters, Katherine Caponi (Seattle, WA) and Kristina Blankenfeld (Seattle, WA). He is also survived by Bill and Elaine Marks of Geneseo, Stanley and Brenda Peterson of Phoenix, AZ, and four nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Goldie Blankenfeld.
