Pamela A. VanKerrebroeck-Mayhew, 56, of Hennepin, IL, formerly of Kewanee, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 15 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hennepin.Father Pat DeMeulemeester will celebrate.Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheffield.A visitation for Pamela will be from 4-7pm on Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hennepin. Memorials may be made to the Pamela VanKerrebroeck-Mayhew Memorial Fund.Vandemore Funeral Homes, Atkinson is assisting the family with arrangements.
Pamela was born on September 11, 1957 in Kewanee, IL, the daughter of Vernon and Esther (Minnaert) VanKerrebroeck.She was a 1975 graduate of Annawan High School.She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Mayhew on January 13, 2001 in Las Vegas, NV.Pamela was the manager at the former Guzzardo’s in Kewanee and then as a floor representative at Good’s Furniture Store in Kewanee for several years.She was also a former member of the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce.She loved spending time with her entire family.Pam was a lover of sports; she particularly enjoyed cheering for the Fighting Illini and the Chicago Bears.She especially loved to vacation and travel with her family and friends
She is survived by her husband Tom; her mother, Esther VanKerrebroeck, Sheffield, IL; daughters: Erika (John) Bochnak, Lockport, IL, Autumn (Douglas) Fahnestock, Sheffield, IL; grandchildren: MacKenna, Jackson, Brycen, Drake; sisters: Sharon (Larry) Priest, Hennepin, IL, Shirley (Jim) Crosby, Geneseo, IL, Sandy (John) Crosby, Annawan, IL, Patti (Todd) Richoux, New Orleans, LA.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Vankerrebroeck.
