Lois Swedman Davis, 86, of Kewanee, Il. died at 2:14 A.M., Friday, March 12, 2010 at Kewanee Hospital. Lois was born November 4, 1923 in rural Wethersfield Township the daughter of Frank and Ada (Carlson) Swedman. She graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1941.
Lois married Robert D. Davis March 2, 1946 in Kewanee He preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Betty Koehler and Doris Brodd. Surviving are three sons Robert (Lillian) Davis of Solon, Ia., Todd (Dianna) Davis of Kewanee, Thad (Helga) Davis of Vero Beach, Fl., one daughter Rebecca (Stephen) Franke of Chillicothe, Mo., seven grandchildren Kona, Sarah, Clare, Ty, Robert, Elle, Stephan, three great grandchildren Isaiah, Arthur and Micha, one brother Duane Swedman of Kewanee, nieces and nephews.

Lois owned and operated Kiddie Kare in Kewanee for twenty five years prior to retirement.

Lois was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Kewanee and many of the churches organizations. She had been a Sunday School teacher and was involved in the former Swedish Smorgasbord of the church. Lois was an active participant in Kewanee Crop Walk, Kewanee Church Fellowship, Kewanee Garden Club, WHS Booster Club, Wethersfield Sesquicentennial Committee, WHS Alumni Association and the Henry County Historical Society and Museum in Bishop Hill. Lois enjoyed flower arranging and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee. Rev. Linda Winkelman will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, Il. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or the Henry County Historical Society. The Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. is in charge of arrangements. Cremation rites have been accorded for 96 year old Loren Louis Heller of Geneseo and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at the First Congregational Church in Geneseo. A Masonic Ritual by Stewart Lodge #92 AM and FM will be held prior to the services. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at the church following the service.
