Syracuse, Washington, Winners in Friday Bowl Games

Terrel Hunt ran into the end zone from 12 yards out with just over a minute to play sending Syracuse to a 21-17 win over Minnesota in the Texas Bowl from Houston's Reliant Stadium. Hunt threw for 188 yards while rushing for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Jerome Smith added 74 rushing yards and a score for the Orange, who end the season at 7-and-6. Minnesota's offense didn't wake up until the second half as Mitch Leidner threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns in defeat. David Cobb ran for 91 yards on just 18 carries. The Golden Gophers fell to 8-and-5 to finish the year.
Washington Romps BYU In Fight Hunger Bowl
(San Francisco, CA) -- Bishop Sankey ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns to lead Washington in a 31-16 win over BYU in the Fight Hunger Bowl from AT&T Park in San Francisco. Keith Price threw for 112 yards with a touchdown and an interception. John Ross returned a kickoff 100 yards for a score to put Washington up for good. The Huskies closed the year with a 9-and-4 record. Taysom Hill ran for 133 yards and a touchdown for the Cougars while tossing for 293 yards with an interception. Cody Hoffman had 12 catches for 167 yards as BYU fell to 8-and-5.
