The Fighting Illini will start the football season with a new quarterback. Illinois head coach Tim Beckman has named Wes Lunt from Rochester High School as its new field general. The six-foot-five athlete started two years ago as a freshman at Oklahoma State. Coaches say the choice of Lunt was easy because he was effective in spring football and has proved that he can lead the team. Illinois opens the season at home on Saturday August 30 against Youngstown State.
