Royals Sneak By White Sox

Jeremy Guthrie dealt eight innings of shutout ball with six strikeouts to lead the Royals to a 2-1 win over the White Sox. A.J. Pierzynski plated the only run on a RBI single in the ninth. Jose Quintana fell to 4-and-2 despite only allowing two runs in seven innings. The Southsiders are off today. They open up a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics tomorrow evening at The Cell.
