Angels Use Five-Run Second To Down Cards

The Angels put up five runs in the second inning and Jered Weaver did the rest in a 5-1 win over the Cardinals in the opener of a three-game series at Angel Stadium.  Albert Pujols, who spent his first 11 seasons in St. Louis, went 0-for-3 with a walk in his first game against his former club.  David Freese plated the lone run on a groundout for the Cards, who have lost seven of their last nine.  Lance Lynn was tagged for all five runs in six frames as he fell to 10-and-3 with his second straight setback.
