Shane Victorino's seventh-inning grand slam lifted the Red Sox to a 5-2 win over the Tigers in Game Six of the ALCS and into their first World Series since 2007. Boston clinched the series four-games-to-two and will host the St. Louis Cardinals starting Wednesday in the Fall Classic. Clay Buchholz pitched five-plus innings of two-run ball in the start for the Sox while Junichi Tazawa earrned the win and Koji Uehara notched the save. Max Scherzer struck out eight over six-and-a-third innings of three-run ball for Detroit and took the loss. Victor Martinez singled in two to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning. The Tigers fell short of winning the World Series for a third straight season despite winning the AL Central.
